My Week In Melbourne Part 1

Imagine being let loose in Melbourne for an entire week with nothing to do but eat.. drink.. and get ludicrously lost at every turn..

Sounds great, right?

Well that's exactly what i did last week..!

NB: Some meals i took photos and some i didn't so not every meal is included.

DAY ONE:
I arrived at 6:30am Melbourne time, a dishevelled mess. I had left Perth at midnight and  had very little sleep on the plane as i was up the back with all the babies. So it felt like 4am in the morning and my sister Brooke was joking about "throwing me in a cold shower" to wake me up. We went back to her little apartment In Brunswick. I put my bag down, laid down on the mattress she had gotten out for me and slept like a baby for a couple hours...

Then we were off!

First we went to the Melbourne GPO and met Brookes friend Kelly

Then we strolled down one of Melbourne famous lane ways and had breakfast..

Watermelon Juice
me
Mosaic Art
Two poached eggs, chorizo, tomato relish and avocado

So after that breakfast I was more awake and ready to explore.

We walked down a smelly ally

Then did some heavy duty shopping in Myer. We also checked out the beautiful Myer Mural Hall and noticed that they do high tea here on the last Sunday of every month. Although i do love high tea we didn't get a chance to go.
gorgeous tea set
Myer mural hall

Then after more shopping we went to Max Brenners which is a favourite of mine.
Peanut Butter Iced Chockie Choctail
Then we parted ways with Kelly and Brooke and i went and relaxed at hers in preparation for dinner.

For dinner on this day of over-indulgence we went to a Thai restaurant called Thaila Thai. It was quite a warm Melbourne night so we BYO'd some refreshing cider. As Brooke had been here plenty of times before i let her pick what we were eating. And she, of course, chose well. We had two entrees and two mains to share.

Chicken & Beef Satay Sticks
Victoria's Butterflies
Green Curry with Chicken

Noodles with Prawns & Sweet Chili

The Green Chicken curry was amazing! So moreish but so spicy! We had chosen the medium option so we didn't think it'd be too hot for our taste as we both don't mind spicy things but Brooke ended up with tears rolling down her cheeks!

DAY TWO:

After quite a sleep in we ventured out of the house at around 11. Breakfast TIME!
Brooke took me to Dood328 a great little cafe in Brunswick.
The walls are covered in comic book pages

I had a Mocha and Brooke had a Chai Latte with honey on the side

Brooke had the famous Corn Cakes and i had Eggs & Bacon on toast with a field mushroom

Later that day after we had watched every episode of The New Girl ever made we went to a local pub called Albert Street Food and Wine. We had a potato and rosemary pizza and a couple beers each.

DAY THREE:

Cupcakes and Macrons from Little Cupcakes

For dinner that night we caught up with Brookes friends Kelly for Mexican. We went to a place down Lygon Street called Amigos on Lygon Street. We had some of the best Mexican Ive ever tasted.

here begins my love affair with Sangria

First we shared nachos

Then we had fajitas
more Sangria
Then we finished with Paella!

We all felt like we were about to explode after all that so we waddled back up Lygon st and somehow made it home!
